Yesterday, I rolled a new character on a server I haven’t played before. Boyfriend started laughing when he saw what class that “test the waters” character turned out to be. A priest, of course! You see, I have this obsession with priests. I have one at level 80, one at 78, one at 40, one at 30 and a whole bunch below that. Granted, two of them are “bank alts” and they’re all spread across several servers, but still!

Since I haven’t levelled any other class to level cap, I don’t really have a right to make this statement but I will make it anyway: Priests are the most fun class to play. Yes, I’m being serious! And that’s coming from someone who levels her priests as holy, or holy with just enough points in discipline *giggles* to get Meditation and Inner Focus. I do have one shadow priest, though. She’s level 30, a blood elf and I’m not sure if it’s the belf part or the shadow part, but I just can’t play her.

Anyway, I do try other classes as well. Currently, the non-priest class I seem to be able to stick with for longer periods of time is paladin, of which I have one, at level 42. I dread doing any instances with that one, and I’m levelling her as protection. Why? Because, used to playing a priest, I just love being able to take on five to twelve mobs and slowly grind them down while shouting things like “Ha! You can’t beat me! I haz plate!”

If I am going to do instances with my paladin, I will most likely end up healing. Probably not tanking because then I would be responsible for everything. See, as the healer, I rely on my tank a lot. I encourage my tank as much as I can, I’ll correct my tank if I have to (but I will do it in whisper) but most of all, I expect my tank to know where to go and what to do. Not that I’ll be upset if they don’t, I quite like confused groups, but, to me, the tank is the leader. Always. Leader material, I am not, so I will not try tanking just yet.

Notice how I’m not saying a word about “just doing damage”? Yeah, there are other people who do a much better job. Or well, let’s just say that there are plenty of people who “only” want to dish out damage, so why should I? Besides, pure damage dealing classes can’t heal. And this is where I roll my eyes at my own reasoning. My rogue and my warrior are starting to feel neglected, not to mention my poor mage.

Back to the priests. Right now, I’m having the most fun with the level 40 priestess. She’s on a roleplaying server (they all are, except for the level 80) and I have three very nice friends who have made new characters there as well. That means, and this is probably the reason why she’s the most fun one to play right now, that I get to heal all the instances without having to PUG. I don’t really mind PUGs, they’re a good way to build skill and patience, but trying to find nice groups for the earlier instances is a hassle since people just want to hit level cap as quickly as possible. For myself, because I skipped out on so many healing possibilities while levelling the others, I want to do every single five man instance (well, perhaps excluding the one in Orgrimmar since I’m an Alliance girl) with this one. At the appropriate level. It’s not the same, of course, since Blizzard has nerfed everything, but still, I need the practice. I want to see the old stuff. And I am fortunate enough to have friendly and fun people with me who want the same and trust me to keep them alive while they hack’n'slash their way through the Bad Guys. Much love.

Running through Stormwind, as alt number six on a server where my main currently is my least played character, I noticed a death knight in the Cathedral Square – where else would these unholy beings spend their time, hmm? – in the process of threatening another character with torture. Now, that sort of thing always sparks my interest due to the amount of guards in that particular area of Stormwind. I’m not too fond of this blatant disregard to our surroundings. If someone is standing next to a guard, don’t walk up to them and start threatening them or punch them in the face. That’s just plain stupid. Anyway, because of this conversation I overheard, I checked the death knight’s FlagRSP description and ah, I was in for a treat. Not only was the title section very interesting indeed (I chuckled at “Calm, but can sometimes turn into a maniac”) but following the title were the following gems.

The Death Knight appears to be some sort of a mix between a very old man and a young 20 year old.

Mount info
Name: Black Death
Things hat should be noticed: The horse is gigantic, almost as large as a mammoth, it hangs bones evrywhere on the horse and if you look at the horse, the horse eyecolors are shifting

He’s unusually kind for a Death Knight, he acts like a human mostly.

I love that last part. Judging by most of the death knights on roleplaying servers, they are all like that. Let’s just not mention the fact that they bring their rotting ghouls with them on their strolls through town. And let’s not focus too much on the fact that their sexual appetites are still very much alive, making them prone to chatting up girls in the pub every single evening. And we should definitely not speak of those girls actually falling for it, gladly snuggling these dead creatures. Yuck!

If I had the energy, I would like to confront them every single time. I would have my poor little city girl scream her lungs out as one of them casually walks up to her, ghoul present, and says “hey pretty girl cna i by u a drink”. Not just scream my own lungs out in frustration, but hers, to try and get one of the fanatical Champions of the Light come to my aid in game. But who am I kidding, they’re probably as sick of it as I am and do what I do; look the other way, pretend not to notice the horrible creatures. Much like we do with the warlocks running around with their demons in tow. But that’s another post…
